As per FAR 61.56 (a)(c), No person may act as pilot-in-command of an aircraft unless that pilot has completed a flight review within the preceding 24 calendar months. 

Instrument Proficiency Check
As per FAR 61-57 (c), No person may act as pilot-in-command unless within the preceding 6 calendar months that person has - at least 6 instruments approaches, holding procedures and intercepting and tracking courses thru the use of navigation systems.
